About Krupa
Krupa is a highly specialised Optometrist working at St Thomas’ Hospital and Burnett Hodd Optometry.
Krupa is a highly skilled and dedicated Optometrist with over a decade of experience. She completed her hospital pre-registration year at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and has since combined her work as a part-time Hospital Optometrist with community practice.
In February 2024, she commenced her current role as an Advanced Clinical Hospital Optometrist in Cataract and Cornea at St Thomas’ Hospital, alongside her specialist community work. Her clinical expertise spans enhanced services including eye casualty, cornea, contact lenses, and cataract care.
Krupa is committed to continuous professional development. She was awarded the Alcon Scholarship in 2021 and served as a clinical supervisor at Aston University, supporting the next generation of Optometrists. She is undertaking the Doctor of Optometry programme via Aston University, with her thesis focusing on adult ocular cystinosis — a rare condition affecting the cornea. Her postgraduate training also includes advanced modules in myopia management, refractive surgery, glaucoma, and paediatrics. She has been an Independent Prescribing Optometrist since July 2023.
Her commitment to clinical excellence has been recognised nationally; she was a finalist in the 2023 Optician Awards in the ‘Clinical Leader of the Future’ category. She has also served on the Local Optical Committee (LOC) and is a regular CPD contributor for Optometry Today and the College of Optometrists.
