About Minakshi
Minakshi has over 24 years of experience as an Optometrist and trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
She graduated from City, University of London in 2002 and went on to complete her professional qualifying year under the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. After qualifying, she remained working at Moorfields, but additionally worked in complex extended role clinics at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children.
Minakshi has over 20 years experience in eye care. She worked in the Glaucoma clinics, Paediatric clinics and contact lens clinics at Moorfields Eye Hospital and privately with various top London Consultant Ophthalmologists. She has been working in Dry Eye Centre since 2018 and is also currently as Optometrist in Burnett Hodd & Tam Optometry. She is an Independent Prescriber and utilises this skill when working in private practice.
During the course of her career she has seen how various ocular disease processes can lead to dry eye. In the treatment of patients with Glaucoma, she is mindful of how certain medications can exacerbate dry eye symptoms. Her experience from working in hospital and in different clinics has allowed her to adopt a more holistic approach to the long term management of dry eye.
Dry eye can be caused by a multitude of factors. Minakshi is passionate about understanding these, helping to manage and providing solutions to help combat long term discomfort.
